Vinery Road wins a commendation at the Structural Steel Awards

We are pleased to announce that Owers Warwick Architect’s project Vinery Road was awarded a Commendation at the Structural Steel Design Awards last night, which took place in the 42nd floor of the Cheese Grater building.

Judges commented that; “Vinery Road demonstrates an elegant adaptation of an existing masonry and steel warehouse into a new office.  The refined steel frame complements the original structure while enhancing functionality, and the carefully detailed exposed steelwork enriches the architecture. Re-using the existing fabric made the project more sustainable than a new building. “

Richard Owers said, “ It’s really gratifying that the creative reuse and adaptation of redundant buildings is being recognised as an important way to engage sustainably in commercial projects.”

We would like to thank our committed client Simon Gusterson, along with Tyrone Bowen for the very elegant structural design, Pleshey Forge for the steelwork and P. B. Doyle contractors for putting it all together so expertly.
