Inspired by Cyprus’s rich history and stunning landscapes, our design aims to reflect the harmony of sun, sea, and mountains. Using local stone and native plants, the architecture will be deeply rooted in its surroundings, blending tradition and modernity with nature to celebrate the island’s unique beauty and cultural heritage.
The site is an important entry point to the wider masterplan the buildings respond to this by creating suitable gateway buildings. Vehicular and pedestrian routes are separated to create a more benign and safer environment for residents, tenants and visitors.
Sitting in the foothills of the mountainous terrain of Cyprus the buildings are to be set in a terraced landscape that harnesses nature and its contours. The buildings are to be set in a rich string of landscaping, comprising native trees and plants. The planting will help resident well-being, the environment and setting of the development.
The site will provide residents with fresh, homegrown produce. Olives from the trees and honey from bees that feed on the rosemary will be harvested for everyone to enjoy, creating a simple and meaningful connection to the local environment.
The views to the sea are spectacular as are the views back to the mountains. The site has been arranged so that offices, apartments and villas are all dual aspect with views to both. The buildings use the terrain to set the buildings above the road and thereby offer uninterrupted views to the sea.
The buildings respond to the environmental conditions. Deep balconies, colonnades and pergolas provide shade from the sun. Dual aspect plans allow for cool mountain or sea breezes to provide cross ventilation. Nosie from the road is attenuated by dropping this below the main pedestrian pathway and building accommodation.
